What tends to be under an old top
Tile set on a mortar bed, a laminate top glued to particle board, or a plywood deck that has taken on water near the sink. Each one changes the prep, so we look at it at the measure instead of guessing on the phone.

Our team provides tear-out, templating and installation, delivering every countertop to fit the old cabinets they sit on for both residential and commercial projects. We template on the installed cabinets, and the same crew that measures returns to set the stone, with a written warranty on the work.
From planning the carry of a heavy island piece up a private drive to cutting a sink opening that suits very hard water, our team handles every detail. Serving the Rainbow community, along with Fallbrook, Temecula and French Valley, we put the measure date and the install plan in writing.
How we work
Homeowners get a free measure. Wineries, restaurants, offices and builders get a bid from their drawings.
Rainbow is a rural foothill community, and the houses reflect it. San Diego County describes a valley of oaks and sycamores on the floor and granite and chaparral on the hillsides, with palm and nursery farms scattered through it. Most homes are older, set back on acreage, and many have kitchens that have been lived in for decades without much change. That history decides the kind of job we usually quote here. A newer tract kitchen often gets an overlay-style swap, a top lifted and a new one set. An older rural kitchen is more often a full tear-out. The old top comes off with its backsplash, and whatever is under it is revealed before we template.

Walls in older houses drift. A run of cabinets that looks straight can be out of level by a visible amount, so we template on the cabinets as they stand and lay out seams on your chosen slab before any cut is made.
A slab is long, heavy and awkward, and on a rural property the route from the road to the kitchen can matter as much as the stone. Rainbow lots often mean a private drive, a gate, a gravel or dirt approach or a slope, and sometimes a house that sits well back from where a truck can safely stop.
We look at the route during the measure. Where does the truck stop, is there room to turn around, are there steps, a narrow gate or a tight hallway between the door and the kitchen? Those answers decide how many hands the install day needs and whether a large island piece is delivered whole or planned with a seam in a place that is easy to carry and easy to hide.
Giving us that detail early keeps the install day from becoming a discovery process.

Water is the part of Rainbow that surprises people most. Rainbow Municipal Water District serves water that is entirely imported, from the State Water Project and the Colorado River, and its 2025 quality report gives an average hardness of 230 milligrams per liter, about 13.45 grains per gallon, which the district itself calls very hard. Hard water leaves mineral spotting and a chalky film wherever it dries, and it is at its worst around the faucet, the sink rim and the dish drying area. That shapes the stone choice more than almost anything else on a Rainbow job.
Engineered quartz and porcelain slab do not absorb water, so the film wipes off and nothing soaks in. They are the low-effort choice near a sink in hard water.
Both can be excellent here when they are sealed, and a dense, darker stone hides spotting well. Marble and some soft stones etch and dull more easily under hard water, so we talk through the trade before you commit to one. We cut the sink opening to the sink you have chosen and can polish the edge so water sheds toward the bowl instead of pooling on the stone.
Acreage tends to produce more than one place that needs a top. A main kitchen is often joined by a guest house kitchenette, a utility room, a bar in a family room or a covered patio kitchen, and rural kitchens can be generous in size.
Planning those spaces together has a practical benefit. Natural stone varies from slab to slab, so when we can buy and cut for the main house and the guest house from the same lot, the colour carries from one building to the next. It also means one measure visit and one install plan instead of several.
Rainbow weather is warm and dry for much of the year, and a patio kitchen earns its keep. Surfaces outdoors take sun and temperature swings, so we steer you toward stone and porcelain that handle exposure, and we confirm the cabinet or masonry base is level before templating.
If the property sits in a private community with its own rules, check them before ordering exterior work. Interior tops rarely need anyone's approval, though that varies and it is yours to confirm.

Price here follows the same drivers as anywhere, and a few of them show up more on rural jobs. As a guide drawn from industry ranges, a kitchen countertop replacement in quartz or granite is typically estimated at roughly $2,500 to $6,000, and a patio kitchen top is often estimated at about $5,000 to $15,000 depending on size and the base it sits on.
The measure is free, and it is where we see the access and the old top that set the real number. These figures are estimates and subject to change with stone prices and the details of your job, and the written quote sets the final price.
Rainbow sits close to Temecula, so measure and install days here do not need to be grouped with other towns, and the crew that measures your kitchen is the crew that sets it. Rainbow is also in San Diego County while our shop address sits in Riverside County, which changes nothing about how the work is booked or quoted.
The measure comes first. We look at the kitchen, the access route and the old top, and we talk through stone options at the supplier's yard when you are ready to choose a slab. After that, the install date is set at the measure and written on your quote, so you are not waiting on a verbal promise.
If your plans include a second building or an outdoor kitchen, say so when you book and we will measure everything in one visit. Call to book the free measure, or describe the property and the kitchen on the contact form and we will tell you what we need to see before we come out.

Yes. Rainbow is one of our nearest communities, and we measure, fabricate and install there. Call to book a free measure.
In most older Rainbow homes, yes. The old top comes off with its backsplash, and we check what is underneath before we template the new one.
Usually. We look at the route at the measure and plan the carry, the crew size and, where needed, the seam position, so a large piece is not discovered to be a problem on install day.
Quartz and porcelain do not absorb water, so they are the easiest near a sink. Sealed granite and quartzite also work well. We help you weigh them at the supplier's yard.
For a kitchen replacement in quartz or granite the typical estimate is roughly $2,500 to $6,000, and size, material and how hard the property is to reach move it within that band. Your written quote sets the final price.
Yes. We measure both buildings in one visit and, for natural stone, try to cut both sets of tops from slabs of the same lot.
Yes. We template on the finished base and recommend stone or porcelain that stands up to sun and heat.
