About our wine bar & wet bar countertops

Our team provides sized openings and full height backsplashes, delivering countertop surfaces that resist red wine for both residential and commercial projects. The same crew that templates your bar installs it, and we lay out the seams on a remnant or a full slab in our shop before any countertop is cut.

From a polished bar sink cutout to a wine wall that runs to the ceiling, our team handles every detail. Serving Temecula, Fallbrook and French Valley, we build the bar around your sink, your fridge and the way you actually entertain.

How we work

Wet Bars, Wine Walls and Bar Sinks

A home bar in Temecula wine country is usually one of three things: a wet bar with a small sink beside the great room, a wine wall with an undercounter fridge and open shelving, or a full entertaining bar with a long top and stools. The job is small in area and heavy in detail, which is why it rewards careful measuring.

A wet bar top is the surface that meets the sink, the faucet, the glass rinse and the wine fridge in a few linear feet. Every one of those has a cutout or a clearance that has to be right, and the top rarely goes in without something being fitted to it.

A wine bar built for guests often adds a second surface at stool height. We template both heights in the same visit and show the seam and edge on one shop drawing, so the room is approved as a whole.

Wine Fridge and Sink Clearances

An undercounter wine fridge needs room to breathe, and the opening has to follow the manufacturer's install guide rather than a guess. Built-in units usually vent from the front, and their guides call for a clear front grille and a small gap at the sides and top, with more space behind. A top cut too low or an opening too narrow can choke the airflow, and a cooler that cannot vent runs hot.

We ask for the make and model of the fridge before we template and work from its guide. If you have not bought it yet, we advise holding the opening until you do.

  • The bar sink is chosen first, because its rim style decides whether the cutout is undermount or drop in.
  • Faucet holes are drilled to the faucet you picked, so the spout lands where a glass sits under it.
  • The fridge opening gets the clearances the guide lists, with any trim marked on the shop drawing.

Wine kept in a bar fridge should sit at a steady cool temperature, around the mid fifties Fahrenheit for long storage, so a fridge that cannot vent is a fridge that fails the wine as well as the compressor.

Materials That Handle Wine

Red wine is the test every bar surface faces, and the material decides how it goes. Marble is mostly calcium carbonate, so acids react with it and wine, citrus and mixers leave dull etched rings and colour stains. It is beautiful, but it asks for care at a bar.

Quartzite

A hard metamorphic rock that is harder and more stain resistant than granite, and a natural pick for a wine bar when it is sealed.

Granite

A dense igneous rock that resists acid and heat. A dark granite hides a wine ring better than a pale one.

Engineered quartz

Resin bound and non-porous, so wine does not soak in, and the colour is consistent. Fine indoors, which is where a home bar lives.

Porcelain

Very low water absorption and very stain resistant, in thin slabs for a modern look. Wipe red wine, lemon and bitters quickly on any natural stone and keep it sealed.

Backsplashes to the Ceiling

A bar wall is often the feature wall of the room, so the backsplash is frequently the same stone carried up to the ceiling or up to a floating shelf. That reads as a single piece of stone and removes grout lines behind the sink where splashes land.

A full height backsplash is a layout question. We plan the seam so it falls at a shelf bracket or an outlet, never through the middle of a sink wall, and we lay out the veining so it flows from the top to the wall.

Outlets, switches and a wall mounted faucet are cut into the stone in the shop, to the box positions we confirm at the measure. Small bar walls are often cut from one slab and sometimes from a remnant, which keeps the stone matched from the top up to the ceiling.

A floating shelf in the same stone ties the wall together, and we cut it with a slight lip so bottles do not creep.

Remnants, Slabs and Small Runs

A bar top has a small footprint, so the right piece of stone is sometimes a remnant rather than a full slab. A remnant is the left-over section of a slab a fabricator has already cut, and it can cost less than buying a fresh slab for a few square feet.

The catch is choice. Remnants come in what the yard has on the day, so we show you what fits the run, and you decide whether the stone suits the room. For an exotic quartzite or a bookmatched wall, a full slab is the better route and we say so up front.

Either way, the stone is chosen at the supplier's yard with you, and we lay out the cut on the actual face before anything is sawn, so the most striking part of the slab ends up where the room looks at it.

Measuring and Installing a Home Bar

We template on the installed bar cabinets, never from plans alone, because bar cabinets are often built to a unique plan and a few millimetres matter. The sink and the fridge should be on site, or at least their spec sheets, so every opening is cut right.

On install day the crew sets the top, seals the seam, mounts the sink, and checks that the fridge slides in and that its front vent stays open. The plumber then connects the faucet and drain, and we coordinate with them so the faucet is not forced against a cutout.

We set the install date at the measure and put it on your quote. Cutting is done wet in the shop, so a home bar does not fill the house with dust.

What a Wet Bar Top Costs

Wet bar and wine bar countertops in Temecula are typically estimated at roughly $3,000 to $15,000, depending on how long the bar is and what stone goes on it. A short wet bar from a remnant sits at the lower end, and a long entertaining bar with a full height backsplash sits at the upper end.

The cost drivers are square footage and slab count, material grade, thickness, edge profile, seams, the bar sink and fridge cutouts, any overhang support for stools, the backsplash height, tear-out and disposal of an old top, plumbing disconnect and reconnect, and cabinet levelling. Access matters too, since gated communities and hillside drives affect how slabs reach the room.

These are estimates and subject to change with the stone and the scope we measure. The written quote sets the final price, and the measure that produces it is free.

The process

Four Steps From Call to Countertop

No stone is cut until you have seen the slab and signed off on where the seams go.

  1. Call or send the form

Tell us the room and the material you have in mind. Businesses and builders send drawings for a bid.

  2. Pick the slab

You choose the slab at the supplier, and we mark where each seam and cut will fall for your approval.

  3. Measure and fabricate

We measure on your installed cabinets, then cut, edge and polish the tops in the shop.

  4. Set the tops

The same crew sets the tops, mounts the sink, closes the seams and cleans up before leaving.

Questions

Wine Bar & Wet Bar Countertops: Common Questions

Which countertop is best for a wine bar?

Sealed quartzite, dark granite and engineered quartz handle red wine well. Marble etches and stains, so it asks for more care.

Can you cut the opening for my wine fridge?

Yes. We cut to the make and model's install guide, and we keep the front vent clear, so we ask for the model before we template.

Can a bar top come from a remnant?

Often. A small run can be cut from a remnant, which can lower the stone cost, but you choose from what the yard has that day.

Do you do the sink and faucet?

We cut and polish the sink opening and drill the faucet holes. A plumber connects the faucet and drain after we set the top.

Can the backsplash go to the ceiling?

Yes. We plan the seam and the veining and cut outlet openings in the shop, so the wall reads as one piece of stone.

What do you need to quote a wet bar?

The sink and fridge models if you have them, a photo of the cabinets, and the height you want the backsplash. The written quote sets the final price.

How much does a wet bar top cost?

Most are typically estimated at roughly $3,000 to $15,000. The written quote sets the final price once the bar is measured.

Do I need to seal a natural stone bar?

Yes. Seal it and test it with a water drop. If the drop darkens the stone, reseal.

Can you add stool seating to the bar?

Yes. We show the overhang and any support bracket on the shop drawing for your approval before we cut.
